BT Headquarters – Alexander Bain House Glasgow

Project Role: Commissioning and Water Treatment Engineers

Project Information

As part of the technology and communication company’s Better Workplace Programme; the office building in Glasgow’s International Financial Services District (IFSD) has benefitted from a multimillion-pound refurbishment including improved working spaces, a refurbished ground floor and reception, a new café and collaboration spaces.

The refurbishment of the building facilitates the relocation of hundreds of additional BT colleagues as the company consolidates their UK estate from over 300 locations to around 30 over the next 5 years.

Now completed, the site team has handed over approximately 170,000 sq. ft. of improved office space including new kitchenette and WC facilities on each floor as well as a variety of meeting and training rooms and collaboration spaces throughout each of the building’s 6 floors.

Within the new ground floor space, we have reconfigured the existing layout and erected internal walls to add more functional office space. Our Manufacturing division created a new Hi-Max clad reception desk for the newly redesigned entrance space and our on-site team fitted out a new public access café and staff bistro and constructed a new internal wall to separate the reception area from the rest of the building.
