Pre-commissioning cleaning is a critical process to prepare pipework systems for safe and efficient operation.
This process removes dirt, manufacturing debris, and bacterial deposits that could cause blockages and inefficiencies. After cleaning, we treat the system water with corrosion inhibitors and biocides as needed, protecting the pipework from corrosion and biological growth and ensuring it’s ready for commissioning and future maintenance.
A clean pipework system is essential for long-term operational reliability. Proper pre-commissioning cleaning reduces the risk of blockages, corrosion, and contamination, which can compromise system performance, increase maintenance costs, and shorten the system’s lifespan. Phoenix Commissioning Systems ensures each pipework system meets the highest cleanliness standards, optimising water quality and system efficiency for years to come.
Phoenix Commissioning Systems utilises:
Dynamic Flushing and Pre-Commissioning Cleaning
We employ a combination of flushing and chemical cleaning, guided by BSRIA BG29 and BG50. Our team adjusts the cleaning approach based on system design and available resources, such as fresh water supply and drainage facilities, to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Full Bore Filtration
This method is a hybrid of the traditional Dynamic Flushing and Side Stream Filtration. The process of connecting large bore filters as part of the system as opposed to being a ‘bolt-on’ whilst still going through the process of proving flushing velocities in the system which collects debris within the filter media. The saving of mains and effluent water is >95% against a standard dynamic flush.
Side Stream Filtration
To minimise disruption, we also invest in side stream filtration, a more sustainable and less intrusive cleaning method. This approach allows closed heating or cooling systems to be cleaned gradually while remaining in operation, reducing water use and impact on client operations.
Aftercare and Maintenance
Beyond initial cleaning, we offer ongoing aftercare services, including sampling and dosing to maintain water quality. As water treatment specialists, we ensure that your system remains in excellent condition over time, reducing the need for future remedial work and supporting the longevity of the installation.
